Form Description: Tiny, free-floating, rootless aquatic herb, up to 1.2mm long. Upper surface green and flat, lower surface translucent and greatly inflated to form a keel.

Flowers: One male and one female flower produced in a flowering cavity on the upper surface.

Fruit: Fruit is a sac.
