Form Description: Carnivorous, aquatic herb with free-floating stems and finely divided leaves holding small bladders which trap minute aquatic animals.
Flowers: Yellow flowers with brownish spots on the prominent lip. Flowers are about 1.5cm long, and occur in groups of 3-6, held erect above the water surface by slender stems which are 8-16cm long.
Fruit: Capsule – seeds are minute.

Habitat Notes
Marshy habitat, in still or slow-flowing water up to a few metres deep. Widespread distribution, ranging from the Gordon River in the south-west to the northern part of Flinders Island in the far north-east; also reportedly from the Derwent River in the State’s south.
General Notes
Grow in still, clear water with a pH of 5-6 which has been seeded with swamp water, to provide a healthy community of microscopic fauna. Position in high light situation but do not allow water to get too hot. Grows easily in a pond in a sunny position. Anchor in place with a stone.
