Form Description: Small tufted aquatic/semi aquatic annual alpine/sub-alpine herb with thread-like leaves, growing more or less submerged in fresh water. Leaves are 1-3cm long, clustered at the base of the stem, bright red in open places and green in shaded situations.
Flowers: Numerous, tiny, and closely packed, borne on stalks longer than the leaves.
Fruit: Egg-shaped and 0.5-0.8mm long. Seeds are rough and white.
