Form Description: Vigorous suckering perennial herb with creeping basal stems, leaves bluntly toothed, 8-15mm long, with scattered hairs along the veins on the lower surface.

Height (m): 0.05 – 0.3

Flowers: Solitary, pale pink or purplish with a conspicuous lip.

Fruit: Nutlet – small, spherical, 1.5mm in diameter. Turns from green to tan when ripe, and becomes brittle. Seed also changes from green to light brown at maturity.

Local in moist, shaded places, especially in the north of the state.

General Notes

Low maintenance plant. Suitable for heavy shade and poorly drained areas as it requires ample water, may die back to rootstock in dry conditions. Plant at 50cm intervals.
