Seed Collection
Collect the seed-bearing heads when they become dry and light brown. Dry the heads in a paper bag, extracting seed by shaking and sieving. Careful monitoring is necessary. To extract seed dry capsules, then rub against a fine wire screen.
Seed Treatment Method
Hot Water Hot water is used to soften the hard seed case of some species. This replicates the weathering process. Pour hot (not boiling) water over the seeds and allow them to soak for 4-12 hours.
