Seed Collection

Seeds are mature when the centre of the seed head becomes loose and individual achenes are easily removed.

Seed Treatment Method

Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.

Seed Treatment Notes

May have a 3-4 month after-ripening time. Surface sow or cover lightly. Seed heads prone to insect attack and should be dusted with an insecticide. If seed is sown ‘in the rough’, buff between coarse paper to remove light down which prevents water contact.
