Form Description: Perennial rosette herb with a stout taproot, silvery-white all over with a dense covering of silky hairs. Leaf blades 2.5-8cm long, and 0.8-2cm wide, divided into leaflets.

Flowers: Flower stems stout and erect, bearing 15-25 flowers on stalks which form 4-5mm long, egg-shaped fruit.

Habitat Notes

Occasional in alpine and sub-alpine grassland on the Central Plateau.

General Notes

High elevation plant. From the same family as parsley, fennel, dill, coriander, cumin and caraway. Good for growing in spaces between native grass and sedge tussocks. Edible – can be added to stir-fries.
