General Notes
Bird attracting. Bee attracting. Resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi. Moderate flammability. Timber, when large enough, was formerly esteemed for cabinet making, inlays etc. Burrs often occur on the trunks near the base and these may be cut into figured veneers.

Seed Information
Seed Collection
When seed is mature the achenes loosen in the centre of the seed heads which appear fluffy. Collect entire seed heads into paper bags and allow to dry. Rub and sieve.
Seed Treatment Method
Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.
