Habitat Notes

Terrestrial species. Abundant alpine or sub-alpine species found in moist, well-drained high plateaux or sunny clearings in highland forest; may occur at much lower altitudes in shady situations, particularly in disturbed areas. In extreme exposure leaves are tinged orange.
