Seed Information

Seed Collection

Seed is difficult to collect but easy to grow.

Seed Treatment Method

Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.

Seed Storage Life

Several years

Seed Treatment Notes

Surface sow. May be successful for direct seeding. Seed is best sown fresh but can be stored for several years with reasonable results. Capillary watering may be helpful due to the fine seed.

Germination Time

2 weeks

Cutting & Division Information

Fairly easy to propagate from cuttings, using half-hardened wood. Responds well to pruning but liable to die suddenly. Best results seem to be achieved by planting out in built up sand and full sun.
