Form Description: Graceful tree usually with a short trunk. Leaves: Juvenile – narrow, linear. Adult – linear, narrow (8mm), pale green to sub-glaucous. Bark: Smooth, cream streaked with grey.

Flowers: Umbels with 9-20 flowers massed stamens, no obvious petals. Mainly in late spring.

Habitat Notes
Endemic to the lowlands of south-east Tasmania (100-500m asl) where it grows as a spreading tree on the upper, north-west facing slopes of dolerite-capped hills, in grassy or heathy open forests.

General Notes
Useful for planting in shady areas. An extremely ornamental tree with pleasing fine foliage and usually neat and compact form. Can be maintained as a tall bush by regular tip pruning. Bird attracting. Bee attracting. High flammability.

Seed Collection
Collect capsules and store in paper bags until valves open to release seed. Separate seed by sieving.
Seed Treatment Method
Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.
