Form Description: Medium to large tree. Leaves: Juvenile – sessile, arranged in opposite pairs, elliptic to egg-shaped, the lower surface covered by a white, waxy bloom, 33–100 mm long and 20–60 mm wide. Adult -arranged alternately, glossy green, concolorous, lance-shaped to curved, 130–350 mm long and 15–45 mm wide on a petiole 15–38 mm long. Bark: Mostly smooth, shedding in long strips to leave a white or greyish surface. Sometimes rough, partially shed bark at the base of the trunk and ribbons of shedding bark in the upper branches.

Flowers: Umbels of 3, creamy white.
Fruit: Woody capsules – conical, 6–8 mm long and 9–12 mm wide with the valves protruding slightly above rim level.

Only known population is on Rodondo Island 10km south of Wilsons Promontory (within state boundary of Tasmania).
