Habitat Notes

Local in the south and south-east from sea level to about 800m. In scrub and forest on poorly drained ground, usually on dolerite hills. Isolated small stands in wet eucalypt forest.

General Notes

The dense silvery canopy extends almost to ground level. Ideal for screen or windbreak. Unfortunately very susceptible to leaf-eating insects.

Collect capsules and store in paper bags until valves open to release seed.

Seed Treatment Method

Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.
