Seed Collection

Ripe capsules hard and woody appearing as furry bulges on the sides of old cones. Seeds large, winged. Seed is short-lived once extracted from the cone. When cut in half, viable seed is white and firm and non-viable seed brownish and brittle or pliable.

Seed Treatment Method

Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.
