Habitat Notes

Widespread in open situations or under light woodland, from sea level to 1200m altitude. North-west, Midlands, Furneaux Group, Ben Lomond, Central Highlands, east coast and west coast.

Seed Information

Seed Collection

Each seed has an awn (‘tail’) up to 4cm long. Collect by running hands upwards along seed head, or cut whole seed head with secateurs and extract seed later.

Seed Treatment Method

Standard Scatter seed thinly on to damp potting mix. Hold seed in place by covering with more potting mix to approximately the depth of the seed size.
