Flowers: Male and female flowers on separate plants. Male flowers on dense, leafy shoots; females on slender leafy shoots that are often longer than the vegetative shoots.

Fruit: Achene – small, brown, oblong-shaped, dry and leathery, 1.5mm long.

Habitat Notes

Sandy and muddy tidal flats, with Zostera muelleri. Historically collected from Blackman Bay, the Swan River Estuary and Boomer Marsh; the only available current records are from Boomer Marsh.

General Notes

Semi-aquatic herb from brackish water.
